About Our Society

The psychology society is one of the largest academic societies on campus, dedicated to fostering a deep understanding of psychological sciences. Representing a major discipline, the society engages students across all batches and fields through a variety of events, discussions, and initiatives that span from research and academic exploration to self-care and community building. With a focus on both academic and personal growth, the society serves as a vibrant hub for those interested in the intricacies of the mind, offering platforms for learning, collaboration, and innovation within the field of psychology.

Departments

Events

At the Events Department, we are responsible for planning and executing various internal and external events; including, but not limited to, seminars, guest speaker sessions, workshops, learning circles, and various other activities to help increase engagement of the student body with the field of Psychology.

Finance and Outreach

Our newest addition, this department will be responsible for managing the society's budget, fund allocation, and fundraising initiatives. They will also oversee external collaborations, sponsorships, and outreach programs to expand the society's presence, both within and outside Ashoka University.

Marketing

This department focuses on on-ground and social media marketing for the club's various initiatives. We are always looking for new and fun ways to engage with the community, both offline and online! Some say, we are turning our instagram handle into a meme page.

Newsletter

The Newsletter is responsible for writing articles and pieces that inform and engage the psychology community at Ashoka. We have already published two editions!

Podcast

The Podcast department will be responsible for creating podcasts about anything and everything psych related - psychology @ Ashoka, what after a psych degree and much more!

Research

The Research Department of the Psychology Society is dedicated to engaging with psychological research in engaging and accessible ways. One of our main tasks is to organize Research Reading Circles, which entail holding a circle to discuss a research paper with the student body, including non-psych majors. In addition, we also create information guides and repositories to help students.

Review

This department will focus on building the Ashoka Psychology Review - a peer reviewed compilation of review papers, analytical essays, artwork, op-eds, original research and other pieces. It will be published each semester. This will allow us to provide a University platform for publishing the work of Ashokan students, and will further involve the student body in research through an understanding of peer review, and other nuances of editing and writing

Technology

The department is responsible for building and overseeing the enhancement and maintenance of the Society's website, ensuring regular updates and a seamless user experience.

Helpdesk

The Helpdesk department is a cohort of senior Psychology students that assist fellow students with queries related to psychology courses, career paths, research opportunities, and more through slots scheduled every week.
